MyRoll review

MyRoll -- Smart Photo Gallery automatically groups related images together as Moments for quick access and less scrolling on your Android device. Aside from some basic settings, two tabs make up MyRoll's layout: Gallery, which displays images in your selected folders in thumbnail collages and zooming full views, and Moments, which groups thumbnails by date in individual collages, each with its own Share menu and Edit, Favorite, and Hide features. MyRoll is free for Android 2.3 and up.

Pros

Edit, Favorite, Hide: We could designate Moments as Favorites for quick recall, Hide Moments from potential phone-snoops, or Edit Moments for date or location, and make other changes.

Select folders: Multiple access points let us add or remove folders from MyRoll's Gallery from the title bar, Settings menu, or Gallery views.

Scrolling date display: When scrolling through the Gallery, small but handy pop-ups display the dates of groups of images as they flash by.

Cons

No external drive: We'd hoped to use MyRoll to organize some jumbled image archives, but it wouldn't recognize our external micro USB drive.

Minimal settings: Aside from Select Folders, FAQs, and Feedback, MyRoll's Settings menu is mostly taken up with social links.

Bottom Line

MyRoll -- Smart Photo Gallery's Moments offer a unique and useful way to keep track of all the pictures you take and store on your Android device. We wish it accommodated USB drives, but thumb drives for Android devices aren't yet common. Nevertheless, its smart gallery technology makes MyRoll stand out among gallery apps.
