Music World Mourns Cranberries Singer Dolores O’Riordan: ‘We Are Crushed’

The music world offered their tributes and condolences to Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan, who died on Monday at age 46.

Among those who paid tribute were 90s singer-songwriter Liz Phair, who praised O’Riordan for having a “exquisite voice, so distinctive and defining of an era.” Irish President Michael D. Higgins also offered his condolences, praising her influence on Ireland’s music scene and recalling how fellow politician Jim Kemmy introduced him to The Cranberries.

“May be my favorite song ever. A personal anthem,” actor Francois Arnaud tweeted, along with a link to The Cranberries’ track “Dreams.” Thank you Dolores O’Riordan and Rest In Peace.”

“We are crushed to hear the news about the passing of Dolores O’Riordan,” Duran Duran wrote. “Our thoughts go out to her family at this terrible time.”
