Murray County teen elected president of Minnesota FFA Association

Apr. 28—WORTHINGTON — Lauren Stoel, a Murray County Central FFA member, was elected president of the Minnesota FFA Association last week during the state's annual convention on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.

The event included numerous contests, speakers and events for students to take part in.

Among the honors presented to individuals in The Globe's coverage area were:

Hall of Fame inductee: Keith Place, Okabena, retired agricultural educator, was one of six individuals inducted.

Honorary State FFA Degree: Joe Biren, Slayton, agricultural educator; and Larry Christopher, Jackson, FFA volunteer and supporter.

Proficiency finalists: Rachel Tusa, Jackson County Central, beef production entrepreneurship; Chloe Kracht, Edgerton, beef production placement; Claire Veenker, Windom, fiber and/or oil crop production; and Wesley Widboom, Worthington, forage production.
