Murder suspect charged in connection to shooting of 16-year-old on Mt. Pleasant Drive

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A man already jailed in Muscogee County is facing new charges in relation to a deadly shooting on Mt. Pleasant Drive back in February of 2023.

Donquerious King is now being charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. King was already in the Muscogee County Jail on unrelated charges when he was served these new charges.

On Feb. 16, 2023 at about 3:56 p.m., Columbus police were sent to a shooting in the 400 block of Mt. Pleasant Drive. At the scene, officers found DaMarcus Faison, 16, lying in the front yard and receiving CPR.

Faison was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional where an emergency room doctor pronounced him dead at 6:27 p.m.

King’s Recorder’s Court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22 at 9 a.m.
