You definitely wouldn’t want to run into one in the water, but one mum was surprised to find herself face to face with two dead baby sharks during a stroll on the south coast.

Diver Adiee Luff, 23, was walking along Worthing Beach in West Sussex with her daughter when she stumbled on the decomposing bodies - one about a foot long and one nearly twice its size at two feet.

The mum-of-one said: “I was walking along with my daughter at low tide and saw a seagull with something so we wandered over.

“I saw it on its back and flipped it over. Slightly further over was a slightly smaller one."

Adiee, who works as a carer for the elderly, took pictures because she had never seen anything like it in the area.

"It felt bizarre,” she said. “I’ve always wanted to see a shark in person being a diver so I suppose I felt a bit excited.

"But I was sad that they hadn’t survived. I’m mostly curious as to what species they would have been.”
