Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office welcomes new comfort dog Burton

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A fluffy, new deputy has joined the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

Burton, a 3-year-old, long-haired German shepherd, has joined the force to assist deputies with stress relief and emotional support work.

“As a comfort dog, he will respond to calls with his handler to relieve stress and anxiety for families, community members and first responders, attend community events and be a support to our Law Enforcement Division,” the MCSO announced.  “Welcome, Burton.”
