SOMERSET TWP. — Fire officials are investigating the cause of a residential structure fire that broke out in the twilight hours of March 1 in Somerset Township.

The Somerset Township Fire Department was dispatched to the fire, located at 13851 Calhoun Road, just before 2 a.m. and arrived on scene to find the home fully engulfed.

Mutual aid responded from Addison, Cambridge, Liberty Township, Moscow Township, North Adams, Jonesville and Columbia Township to assist with firefighting efforts which were impeded by concrete walls.

No injuries were reported in the fire which was brought under control by 6 a.m.

A draft site was established nearby the fire from a pond which established a constant water supply to the fire.
