2 injured after chase in stolen vehicle ends in crash on Billy Graham Pkwy in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Two people have been hospitalized following a police chase that ended in a multi-vehicle crash in west Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

On Friday, April 12, officers attempted to pull over a person in the 9300 block of Steele Creek Road who they said was wanted in connection to an armed robbery on N. Sharon Amity Road.

The wanted person refused to stop and drove away in a reported stolen vehicle, CMPD said. The wanted person then sideswiped another vehicle as they continued speeding away from police.

The suspect continued speeding away, eventually colliding with two vehicles at the intersection of Billy Graham Pkwy and West Blvd on Friday.

Medic transported the suspect and another person who was inside one of the vehicles struck by the suspect to an area hospital for treatment.

Multiple units assisted in this crash and apprehension including CMPD’s Steele Creek Division, Westover Division, Aviation Unit, K-9 Unit, and Real Time Crime Center.
