MTR Gaming names Joseph Billhimer acting president

CHESTER, W.Va. (AP) -- MTR Gaming Group Inc. chief operating officer Joseph L. Billhimer has been named acting president.

Chester-based MTR announced Billhimer's appointment on Thursday in a news release. The company says Billhimer also will continue as chief operating officer until a permanent president is appointed.

The company had announced in April that former president and CEO Jeffrey Dahl was resigning to pursue other business opportunities. Dahl's resignation and Billhimer's appointment were effective Monday.

MTR owns Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in Chester, Scioto Downs in Columbus, Ohio, and Presque Isle Downs & Casino near Erie, Pa.
