MSU hockey wins program’s first-ever Big Ten title

MADISON, Wisc. (WLNS) – When looking at the box score after the second period, it was a miracle that No. 6 Michigan State could head into the second intermission tied 2-2 with No. 4 Wisconsin.

The Spartans were outshot by the Badgers 34-14 through two periods while getting beat in the face-off circle 33-18.

But a massive three-goal third period with goals from Reed Lebster, and two empty netters-one from Jeremy Davidson and the other from Tiernan Shoudy helped seal this win for second-year head coach Adam Nightingale and his team.
