MSP: Car stolen from Kentwood found in Benton Harbor

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say detectives found a car stolen from Kentwood in Benton Harbor.

Michigan State Police said a search warrant was executed at a house on Monroe Street in Benton Harbor on Thursday after learning a stolen vehicle was found on the property.

During the search, detectives found a 2019 Dodge Charger that had been reported stolen out of Kentwood inside a garage. The keys were not found, and evidence suggests it was on the property for “a third party,” according to an MSP news release.

The car was handed over to the Kentwood Police Department as the case remains under investigation.

State police said reports of stolen vehicles have increased since 2020 and are often linked to the drug trade.
