MS store clerk shot, killed during attempted robbery

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Clarksdale, Miss. man is dead after an attempted robbery at a convenience store turned deadly Friday afternoon.

According to the Clarksdale Police Department, officers responded to the shooting at the D&T Supermarket at 12 North State Street just before 5 p.m.

Police say the suspect entered the store and held the clerk behind the counter at gunpoint. He then shot the clerk multiple times and fled the scene empty-handed.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.
