Some of the state’s best soccer talent remains right here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and we need your help picking the best high school girls player for the 2023-24 season.

Voting is now open for the Sun Herald fans’ choice Girls Soccer Player of the Year.

The fans’ choice winner for Player of the Year will be recognized along with the rest of the All-South Mississippi Team when it is published.

Voting is open through noon on Thursday, March 28.

Here are the nominees:

  • Isabella Jordan, St. Patrick: Jordan led the Irish with 30 goals and nine assists in helping lead St. Patrick to a Class I state title.

  • Chloe Brock, Gulfport: The junior scored eight goals for the Admirals and assisted on six more while being named a Coast All-Star.

  • Parker St. Amant, Ocean Springs: St. Amant scored seven goals and assisted on 12 for the Greyhounds and was a MAC All-Star selection.

  • Jennifer Lopez, Gautier: Lopez led the Coast with 32 goals, was a MAC All-Star and is a Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. signee.

  • Mary Grace Batson, Stone: Batson scored 30 goals with 11 assists in her senior season. She is a Jones College signee.

  • Keira Hawley, George County: Hawley recorded 77 saves for the Rebels, was a Coast All-Star, an All-Region pick and a Hinds C.C. commit.

  • Abbie Hancock, West Harrison: Hancock found the net 15 times and picked up six assists. She was a MAC All-Star choice.

  • Kennedy Leverett, Our Lady Academy: Leverett was named a Coast All-Star and helped lead the Crescents to a Final Four appearance.

  • Addison Yelverton, Biloxi: The senior forward led the Indians with 12 goals and 10 assists.
