Mr. Belding from 'Saved By the Bell' takes us to school on 'Old Baseball Cards'

Look, when you’re a nostalgia broker like we are on “Old Baseball Cards,” sometimes you see someone who stops you in your tracks.

That was us when we saw Mr. Belding recently. Yes, *THE* Mr. Belding — aka Dennis Haskins — one of TV’s most famous principals from his days on “Saved By The Bell.” If you’re talking about pop culture in the late ’80s and early ’90s, you’re talking about “Saved The Bell.”

If you didn’t know, Mr. Belding is a regular on the minor-league-baseball circuit, throwing out first pitches and making appearances around the country. So he was happy to open some 1989 Fleer with us — the same year “Saved by The Bell” debuted — and talk about his friend Rick Honeycutt. He also drove a hard bargain when it came time to make a trade for Tony Gwynn.
