On April 14, officers say they responded to a shooting call at 2 a.m. at the Greenbriar Apartments in Frayser. A male was found shot in the leg.

The female victim told police her friend Kayla Wells came over to her house to talk about her boyfriend, who was not present at the scene. She also stated that Wells lives in the same apartment complex.

When the conversation between the female victim and Wells got heated, they stepped outside and began to argue.

The female victim stated that she pushed Wells out of her face when she started shouting at her. The male victim allegedly came outside to stand in between the two women.

According to reports, Wells then pulled out a pistol and fired a shot in the air. She then reportedly fired four or five more shots at the two victims as they ran back into their apartment.

Kayla Wells’ next court date is scheduled for Thursday at 9 a.m.
