MPD increases reward to $50K in Southeast shooting that killed 3-year-old girl

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said Monday that the reward for information about a shooting that left a 3-year-old dead had increased.

On May 3, just after 9 p.m., officers responded to the sound of gunshots in the 2300 block of Hartford St. in Southeast.

They found 3-year-old Ty’ah Settles who had been shot. She was at a fire station when police got there. Investigators believe she was in a car at the time of the actual shooting.

Despite efforts to save her, she died.
