‘Movies in the Park’ is back. Check out NORD’s spring schedule

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission, along with the City of New Orleans, has kicked off the spring 2024 season of “Movies in the Park.”

City officials said “Movies in the Park,” the annual outdoor movie screenings featuring family-friendly movies, began Friday, March 1.

This event is free and open to community members of all ages.

Historic night spot, Dew Drop Inn, reopens with major renovations

City officials said attendees under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pets, alcoholic beverages, drugs, guns, weapons, smoking or outdoor cooking are not allowed during the event.

Concessions will be available at select screenings, but moviegoers are encouraged to bring picnics, lawn chairs and blankets.

Movies will begin at nightfall. Each screening will have an alternative indoor location, in case of severe weather.

  • Friday, March 15 — “Space Jam: A New Legacy” at Goretti Park, 7500 Benson St.

    • Rain site: Joe W. Brown Rec Center, 5601 Read Blvd.

  • Friday, March 22 — “Barbie” at Latter Library, 5120 St. Charles Ave.

    • Rain site: Lyons Rec Center, 624 Louisiana Ave.

  • Friday, April 5 — “Wonka” at Pratt Park, 5733 Chatham Drive

    • Rain site: Milne Brown Rec Center, 5420 Franklin Ave.

  • Friday, April 12 — “The Color Purple” PG 13 at Pontchartrain Park, 6500 Press Drive

  • Friday, April 19 — “Super Mario Brothers” at Lafitte Greenway, 1971 Lafitte St.
