Former co-founders and co-shareholders Andrew Caprile and Gene Berk of Koenig, Caprile & Berk have joined the health care practice group at Buchalter. Both attorneys have experience in health care business transactions. Caprile and Berk are based in Los Angeles.

Horvitz & Levy brought on three appellate attorneys: senior counsel Andrea Russi, of counsel Beth Jay, and associate Christopher Hu. Previously, Russi was senior appellate court attorney at the California Court of Appeal, First District. Jay had served as principal attorney to three California chief justices. Hu had been an associate at Moskovitz Appellate Team. They are based in the Bay Area.

K&L Gates promoted two attorneys to partner in Los Angeles: Ruth Delaney in Los Angeles and Ranjini Acharya in Palo Alto. Delaney advises domestic and offshore private fund advisers on organizational, regulatory and compliance issues. Acharya’s practice focuses on complex patent litigation, trade secrets misappropriated and copyright disputes.

Miller Starr Regalia hired John Kirkham as an associate in the common interest development practice group. Kirkham previously was a solo practitioner who assisted California residential, mixed-use and commercial associations with governing document updates. He is based in the Walnut Creek office.

Ropers Majeski promoted three attorneys to partner: Spiros Fousekis in Redwood City and Alan Hart and German Marcucci in Los Angeles. Fousekis and Marcucci both practice in the business and commercial litigation group and Hart practices in the business commercial litigation and intellectual property law groups.

Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek elected Brian Seltzer to chairman of the board. Seltzer is a shareholder and chief operating officer of the firm. He is based in San Diego.

Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean brought on William Rowell as a partner in the litigation practice group. Rowell has almost 25 years of litigation experience representing public entities. Previously, he was a partner at Buty & Curliano. He is based in the Oakland office.
