Joseph R. McCarthy[/caption] Meyner and Landis in Newark has named Joseph R. McCarthy an equity partner. He joined the firm as an associate in 2012. He graduated from New York Law School in 2003 and Rowan University in 1999, where he received a B.A. in political science. McCarthy is a partner with the firm’s litigation group, where he concentrates in creditors’ rights, banking and commercial real estate. He is an experienced commercial litigator who represents private and institutional clients in a wide range of litigation matters in state and federal courts, including mortgage foreclosures, bankruptcy, workouts, lender liability actions, construction disputes, and real estate disputes. McCarthy is also a transactional attorney who represents clients in complex commercial real estate and business transactions.

Prior to joining Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, Iman worked at Verizon as an ADA compliance consultant and was law clerk to Superior Court Judge Bahir Kamil in the Criminal Part. At Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, Wells counsels employers on employee handbooks, policies, performance improvement plans, disciplinary materials, and separation agreements and releases, with a focus on avoiding liability and preventing litigation. She received her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Rutgers University. She is currently the co-director of recruitment and retention for the Rutgers University Black Law Alumni Network.

Additionally, she works with Volunteer Lawyers for Justice, assisting litigants with navigating the divorce process and preparing post-judgement pleadings for child support modifications.
