Mountain lion sighted in Millbrae Wednesday afternoon

(KRON) — A mountain lion was sighted in Millbrae Wednesday afternoon, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies became aware of the sighting, which occurred in the 800 block of Lomita Avenue, officials said.

Deputies immediately canvassed the area but were unable to locate the cat. A San Mateo County alert was sent out to the immediate area, which is near Junipero Serra Park. Law enforcement is asking members of the community to be aware of their surroundings.

“If you see a mountain lion, keep your distance can call 911,” officials said.
