Motorola yanks high-profile smartphones, tablets from German market in wake of patent litigation

Motorola’s victory over Microsoft (MSFT) in one patent case last week appears to have been decidedly short-lived. ZDNet reports that a barrage of patent suits have forced Motorola to pull all of its tablets and all but three of its smartphones from its online German store. As of this week, the only devices that German customers can buy from Motorola are the Motorola RAZR i, the Motorola RAZR HD, and the Motorola Gleam+. It’s not known at this point if Motorola will keep so many of its devices off its German market for a prolonged period of time, although the company’s actions do raise questions over whether its patents are really as strong as Google (GOOG) believed when it purchased the company for $12.4 billion.
