Yes, Motorola is getting its pants sued off in Germany by both Microsoft (MSFT) and Apple (AAPL) but that apparently isn’t the reason why the company has yanked the majority of its smartphones and tablets off its German sales site. A Motorola spokesperson told AllThingsD that pulling all but three of its smartphones from the site is all part of a plan to focus on “fewer mobile devices” where the company has “phased out some of our lower tier devices in Europe/Germany.” Motorola customers may be surprised to learn that all of the company’s tablets are now considered “lower tier devices,” but that’s the company’s story.
