Motorcyclist struck by SUV, taken to Munson with life-threatening injuries

May 16—TRAVERSE CITY — A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after colliding with an SUV in East Bay Township, according to an Michigan State Police statement.

The man hit was 64 years old and from Traverse City. His motorcycle collided with an SUV driven by a 79-year-old Kalamazoo man at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday night at the Garfield and Three Mile intersection.

The Traverse City man was taken to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City with life-threatening injuries, according to Sgt. Ashley Miller. The man's condition as of Thursday afternoon was unknown.

The SUV's driver and his 74-year-old passenger were unhurt.

No citations have been issued because the crash is still under investigation, Miller said.
