Motorcyclist in Slippery Rock flown to hospital after crash

Apr. 29—SLIPPERY ROCK — A motorcyclist in Slippery Rock was taken to a Pittsburgh-area hospital by medical helicopter Monday morning after an accident.

Slippery Rock Police Chief Terry Fedokovitz said the accident took place about 11:15 a.m., when a 27-year-old man, who was driving a motorcycle south on Franklin Street near South Main Street, struck the rear end of another southbound vehicle.

Police did not identify the man, but said the impact threw him from the motorcycle and onto the hood of a northbound vehicle. Fedokovitz also confirmed that other people were injured, but no fatalities at the time.

The motorcyclist was flown to a hospital near the Pittsburgh area. Another person involved in the crash was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
