Motorcyclist killed after striking 2 street signs, large tree in early morning St. Pete crash

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning after he lost control and crashed into two street signs and a large tree in St. Petersburg, according to police.

Brandon Christian Harwood Pagels, 30, was traveling westbound in the 1900 block of 1st Avenue North around 2 a.m. “at a high rate of speed” when he lost control of his motorcycle.

Pagels went off the roadway and struck two street signs and a large tree. He died at the scene, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

This crash investigation is ongoing.
