Motorcyclist killed in Goshen crash

GOSHEN — A 20-year-old North Webster man on a motorcycle was killed Wednesday after disregarding a red light at C.R. 17 and S.R. 119.

Kaiden Ruff was traveling northeast on S.R. 119 on a 2012 Yamaha FZ6 at 4:16 p.m. when he drove into the intersection against the light, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office said.

The motorcycle was hit by a northbound 2013 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Branda Gonzalez Gutierrez, 31, of Elkhart, the report said.

Ruff was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, according to police.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Brenda Gonzalez Gutierrez, 31, of Elkhart, was transported to Goshen Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorcycle slid through the intersection and struck a third vehicle, a southbound 2012 Dodge Avenger. That driver was not injured.
