Motorcyclist killed after crashing into 18-wheeler in Comanche County

COMANCHE COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into an 18-wheeler in Comanche County Wednesday night.

James Roden of DeLeon, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on FM 1496 east of DeLeon just before 9:30 p.m., according to a crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The report states Roden was traveling north down the road on his motorcycle when he failed to maintain a single lane and crossed into the path of an approaching 18-wheeler.

Even though the 18-wheeler driver tried to take evasive action, the report sates Roden struck the side of his trailer.

No other injuries were reported in connection to this crash, which is still under investigation.
