Motorcyclist killed in crash on Route 46 in Totowa

A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger hospitalized after a crash on Route 46 in Totowa on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Around 2 p.m., a 2014 Acura MDX collided with a 2008 Yamaha R6 motorcycle on Route 46 East near the Union Boulevard Exit in Totowa, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office stated Wednesday evening.

Two 19-year-old men who were on the motorcycle were rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson. The driver was pronounced dead and the passenger was in stable condition at the hospital. A 22-year-old driver of the Acura was not injured.

The identity of the man who died has not been released.
