All Highway 1 lanes blocked due to fatal motorcycle crash in San Mateo County

(KRON) — At about 5:45 p.m., the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office reported a severe traffic alert regarding a motorcycle collision that is blocking all lanes on Highway 1 at Mirada Road in San Mateo County.

Sergeant Philippe Hallworth from the sheriff’s office said the motorcyclist crashed into a pickup truck. Despite a volunteer firefighter rendering aid to the motorcyclist, they later succumbed to their injuries, the sergeant said.

All Highway 680 lanes blocked due to barricaded person

All lanes are currently blocked in both northbound and southbound directions. Drivers are advised to expect delays and to use alternate routes to avoid the area, officials said.

The sheriff’s office said they anticipate lanes to open by 10 p.m.
