Motorcyclist, 19, killed in crash on E. Tropicana

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed Thursday night when he entered an intersection during a red light, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. on E. Tropicana Avenue and Sandhill Road. Police said the motorcyclist was headed eastbound on Tropicana, passing vehicles as he neared the intersection and was struck by a Nissan Pathfinder attempting a left turn onto Sandhill.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Nissan remained at the crash site and showed no signs of impairment, police said.

The identity of the motorcyclist will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office. This is the 70th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2024.
