Motorcycle, car collide in Grand Forks

May 12—GRAND FORKS — A car and motorcyle collided Saturday evening, May 11, in Grand Forks, resulting in one driver being cited for driving under the influence.

The incident occurred at 7:40 p.m. in the 900 block of South 20th Street.

According to a release from the Grand Forks Police Department, a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Heather Wippler, 39, of Grand Forks was turning into the Ben Franklin Elementary School parking lot. The Camry was struck by a 2010 Yamaha V95 motorcycle driven by Tyler Power, 33, of Grand Forks.

Power was arrested for DUI and cited for no liability insurance and unqualified operator.

There were no injuries on scene. The GFPD asks that anyone who saw the incident call the department at 701-787-7000.
