Mother Nature May Celebrate Independence Day With a Hurricane

The National Weather Service is warning that everyone from the Carolinas to the Northeast might be in for a soggy 4th of July. According to CNN, Arthur (since it's the first storm of the season and all) is expected to graduate to a tropical storm later today.

Right now, it's hovering just off the coast of Florida, but looks to make its way north by Friday.

A tracking map shows the system on July 4 as a weak Category One hurricane, just off North Carolina's Outer Banks.

Here's Artie's cruel pathway.

Fear not, Ms. GooBster, the storm is supposed to clear out by the weekend.
