Mother of Alex Murdaugh passes away

HAMPTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Mrs. Elizabeth “Libby” Alexander Murdaugh, mother of Alex Murdaugh, has died, according to Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton County.

An obituary posted online said Murdaugh passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon at her home.

Murdaugh sentencing set for federal financial crime charges

Libby Murdaugh was married for 60 years to the late Randolph Murdaugh III.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home says she passed away under hospice care. Details about her funeral are forthcoming.
