Mother, 4-year-old child reported missing from Waterbury

A mother and her young child have been reported missing from Waterbury.

Marcia Minarcaja, 24, and her son, 4-year-old Ian Gael, were reported missing by a relative and are believed to be together, according to Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police Department.

Bessette said the pair was last seen Monday in the area of Pearl Street.

Connecticut State Police have issued a Silver Alert in connection with the disappearance.

According to the alert, the child has black hair and brown eyes and weighs about 35 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red sweater and black jeans.

Bessette said police did not have a photo available of the mother or son.
