Mother of 3 Quebec children found dead expected in court today

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. - The case of a Quebec woman accused of killing her three children returns to court today.

Sonia Blanchette is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Lorelie, 5, Loic, 4 and Anais, 2.

It was unclear if she would actually appear in court after undergoing a court-ordered psychiatric assessment to determine her fitness to stand trial.

The children were found dead on Dec. 2 on the top floor of a duplex in Drummondville, Que.

Police have not yet revealed how they died.

Funerals for the three children were held last Saturday in the small community of Acton Vale south of Drummondville, where they lived with their father.
