What is the most popular alcohol in Pennsylvania?

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has released its annual report that shows the most popular products sold across the state.

The report stated that there were $3.15 billion in sales (including liquor and sales taxes) with a net income of $260.8 million.

Tequila, ready-to-drink beverages, and whiskey topped the list of product categories with the largest year-over-year dollar gains, with increases ranging from 3.8% to 51.9% across categories.

The report also stated that unflavored vodkas were the top spirits in 43 counties across the state. Nearly $336 million in sales were made with unflavored vodka in 2022-23, followed by nearly $285 million in American Whiskey (bourbon).

When it comes to wine, Californa cabernet sauvignon was the top wine category in 42 counties, while another 13 counties had box red wine as the top wine. California chardonnay and beverage wine were the top wines in the remaining counties, with six each.

In all 67 counties, whiskey had the top share of sales followed by vodka, however, unflavored vodka made more money.

The top three counties, Allegheny, Philadelphia, and Montgomery accounted for 35% of statewide sales.
