Most blogged artists: new Little Boots tune, Scissor Sisters remix Ladyhawke

New Zealand singer-songwriter Ladyhawke

British electro-pop darling Little Boots emerges as one of the hottest musical acts of the moment, according to The Hype Machine, with the release of a new 12-inch for her latest track. New Zealand's Phillipa "Pip" Brown, known as Ladyhawke, is also gaining buzz after American act Scissor Sisters remixed one of her tunes.

Little Boots, aka singer-songwriter Victoria Hesketh, last caused a stir in the blogs last year with the release of a dance track called "Shake," produced by Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford. For Record Store Day on April 21, she released a limited-edition 12-inch for her latest track “Every Night I Say a Prayer.” “The fact that the track is a fluttery disco collaboration with Hercules & Love Affair's Andy Butler should be exciting enough, but the 12" also features an all-star cast of remixers selected by Little Boots herself,” writes The 405.

Ladyhawke was last in the the blogs with the release her sophomore full-length, Anxiety, earlier this year. In recent days, bloggers have been circulating a new remix by Scissor Sisters of the track “Sunday Drive” that is “full of shimmering synths and a bouncing bass line,” writes blogger Surviving the Golden Age.
