Most blogged artists: Kanye West gains buzz over DJ Khaled collaboration

American rap star Kanye West returns to the Hype Machine’s most blogged artists chart on Friday with the release of a new track featuring DJ Khaled. Also entering the chart this week is Father John Misty, the alias of Fleet Foxes’ drummer Josh Tillman, who is stepping out on his own in a solo endeavor.

On Wednesday night, West premiered the new track titled "Theraflu" on Funkmaster Flex's radio show -- the first of two new tracks the star is releasing this week, including "Mercy," which reportedly will release on Friday. “It’s a seriously strong performance, all hard snarls over a bleepy late-’90s-style beat,” reviews Stereogum. “And it also finds Kanye getting surprisingly personal, at least for a couple of lines, about his long-rumored relationship with Kim Kardashian.”

Baltimore native Tillman has already released seven full-length albums under his own name and is now gearing up to release his debut LP for Sub Pop Records as Father John Misty. The album, titled Fear Fun, will be released on May 1. “These songs are exciting, lush, fully formed, fully realized, and wholly out of this world,” reviews Everybody Taste.
