Morocco’s Peacock Pavilions: A Luxury Guest House that Goes Above and Beyond
Think the only way you can see the world and make a difference is through organizations like Doctors Without Borders or the Peace Corp? Relax (quite literally), and book your next vacation at a luxury hotel that packs a do-good punch.
One such establishment? Our current design obsession, Peacock Pavilions in Marrakesh. Located in an olive grove just 20 minutes outside the city center, the Moroccan-chic boutique hotel offers guests luxurious amenities (think tented yoga pavilions, romantic in-room fireplaces, and plush king-sized beds) while donating 10 percent of its profits to support children in the surrounding village of Douar Ladaam.
Through Project Soar, a non-profit started by the B&B’s owners, guests can help provide art supplies and athletic equipment to underprivileged girls. The non-profit also funds renovations to rural area schools and rehabs of local businesses.

“Cultural constraints sometimes allow girls fewer opportunities,” explains the organization’s website.“So Project Soar empowers girls to grow strong, smart and creative. We also bring beauty to communities through art, rehabilitation and cleanup projects, helping them thrive for years to come. We want us to all SOAR high together.”
