This Morning's Michelle Elman reveals cheating ex fiancé was discovered on a dating site

This Morning star Michelle Elman has revealed that her former fiancé was discovered on a dating website while they were still together.

The life coach, who is a regular on the ITV mid-morning stalwart, said she thought she was in the relationship with “the love of my life” until she learned of her partner’s infidelity just a day after they got engaged.

Appearing on Wednesday’s This Morning, the author told how she was contacted by another woman who found her former partner on a dating site and spent the night with him in a hotel.

She told hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley: “We met on a dating app, he was my first date after the pandemic. Love of my life, healthiest relationship I had ever had.

“I was engaged and then a woman reached out and asked if he was my fiancé. I ended up speaking to her for an hour on the phone. He was on a dating app, he was on a business trip and yeah…”

The 30-year-old went on to explain there were “no red flags” from her ex fiancé and insisted that there were no warning signs about his deceit.

She continued: “I fully back myself. I am emotionally intelligent, smart, intelligent woman. I have every tool in my tool kit to notice red flags. If someone wants to lie to you they will.

“Wholeheartedly I did not see any red flags. But in my mind, as a life coach, the moment you’ve gone on their phone, that’s the relationship over, you’ve already lost, you don’t trust them.

“Trust isn’t based off having gone on their phone to check that they’re not messaging. And anyway, they wouldn’t have been anything anyway, because he deleted it all.”

The TV expert went on to explain that her partner was with her when she got the first message from the woman about him being on a dating site.

She said: “He was with me when I got the first message. I thought it was a colleague. It took a while to figure out. My first reaction was shock and I kept saying please tell me first,I don't want to find out from her.

“Then it was screenshots of the dating profile and his number, I believed her from the get go, but I needed evidence. She told me the hotel, and I said put that in your email, and it came up, then he admitted it.”

“He admitted it and to others as well but I think my reaction was just was 'you have ruined a good thing, this is supposed to be happiest day of my life'.

Asked how her partner could have expected to get away with cheating when his partner was a public figure, Elman said she had always protected his privacy and not been photographed with him.

Elman continued: “I don’t think there was a lot of thought behind it.

“His whole message in all of this, even to this day – and I spoke to him last night, just to give him a heads up about today – is that he loves me, he wants me back, I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to him, the last few years were the best years of his life and he ruined it and he will do anything.

“I was a public figure, but there was no public interest in my personal life. I was a public figure for being a life coach. And that’s what I was known for.”

Last week, the life coach tearfully took to her Instagram and announced that she had ended their engagement after just 24 hours after discovering her partner of three years had been seeing another woman.
