Morning showers in metro Phoenix to be last rainfall for several days

Rain briefly moved over the Phoenix area early Thursday, but no more precipitation was expected for several days after the morning showers.

As of about 8:45 a.m., rainfall was forecast to fall within the next two hours, according to National Weather Service Phoenix meteorologist Ryan Worley.

"We are seeing some rain across the Valley and should be tapering off within the next hour and a half or so," Worley said.

"There might be a few isolated to scattered showers, primarily north and east of Phoenix this afternoon. But looking ahead into the future, rain chances are pretty close to zero to go through the rest of the week," he said.

Worley said there was 0.01 inch of rain recorded at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

"This should be it for us for the next several days," Worley added.
