‘Morning Joe': CPAC Canceling Milo Yiannopoulos Was ‘a No-Brainer’ (Video)

“Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski has deemed the decision to disinvite Milo Yiannopoulos from the upcoming CPAC conference as a “somewhat of a no-brainer” following the Breitbart editor’s recent comments about pedophilia.

American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp explained that CPAC doesn’t mind having controversy on stage, but Yiannopoulos took it too far.

“Over the weekend I was made aware of these comments and it just broke through very important boundaries and we felt like the CPAC stage was not an appropriate place for this any longer,” Schlapp said in a statement on Monday.

Schlapp went on to defend the conference’s initial offer for Yiannopoulos to speak, explaining that he doesn’t want to “shield that kind of conversation” attendees.

On Monday’s show, “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough said the CPAC conference should have lined up someone like Ted Cruz to address political correctness on college campuses instead of an “anti-Semite.”

On Sunday, a video surfaced in which Yiannopoulos said some relationships between adults and 13-year-olds are consensual. He also joked that being molested had made him good at oral sex. His comments have resulted in being uninvited to speak at CPAC, Simon & Schuster canceling his book deal and speculation about Breitbart ending its relationship with the editor.

“After careful consideration, Simon & Schuster and its Threshold Editions imprint have canceled publication of ‘Dangerous’ by Milo Yiannopoulos,” a spokeswoman for the publisher told TheWrap on Monday. The decision comes after several controversial comments from the Breitbart editor surfaced over the weekend.
