More information on the deadly Clark County Crash

CLARK COUNTY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – We’re learning more about a deadly, Clark County crash on Friday (3/8/24). The crash killed nine people. Their names and other details are being released today by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says nine people were in a van that was hit by a semi at the intersection of Highway 95 and County Highway J in the town of Dewhurst. 7 of them, including a surviving 2-year-old, were ejected from the van. The victims rang(ed) in age from 6 months to 46 years old. The sheriff’s office says they were all traveling from Virginia and died at the scene.

The lone survivor was a two-year-old child who was taken to a hospital in Marshfield and released to family members today. The semi-driver who died was a 51-year-old man from Rewey, Wisconsin near Platteville.

This is the first fatal accident this year in Clark County.
