More funding proposed for public transportation in Pennsylvania

(WHTM)– Governor Shapiro was in Lancaster Wednesday, visiting the Red Rose Transit Authority.

He’s proposing spending another $1.5 billion on public transportation. It would be spent over five years in all 67 counties.

Red Rose Transit would receive $5.6 million.

“This is really critical for those folks across Pennsylvania,” Shapiro said. “And so the combination of fixed route bus services and curb the curb shared ride services gives so many of our neighbors the flexibility they need to live and work and play and travel independently. Something that I know Pennsylvanians desire and deserve.”
