More commercial space slated to be built in Southwest Rochester

Jun. 26—More commercial space is in the pipeline for Southwest Rochester this summer.

DK Fox Hill LLC, a Rochester development firm Spearheaded by John Klopp, is moving though the early city permitting process to build a one-story, 6,000-square-foot office center along the North Frontage Road of Salem Road Southwest.

The proposed building is slated for a spot northeast of Edina Realty's Rochester office complex at 1301 Salem Road SW. This will be a sibling to the nearby Edina West building at 1309 N. Frontage Road Salem SW that DK Fox constructed in 2019 on the corner of Fox Valley Drive Southwest to the west of the real estate Edina West sold for $1.8 million in 2019 to two Rochester companies, Salem SW LLC and R & T Rochester Investments LLC. It now houses two tenants, ActivePT & Sports and Respira: Airway, Snoring and TMJ.

Given the success of the previous project, Klopp is optimistic about this proposed second center.

"It's a good location. It's a pretty visible site with easy access," he said.

Depending on how fast the city moves on approving the project and the availability of contractors, Klopp hopes to start construction yet this summer.

Once completed, the building could accommodate one or two tenants.
