More than 80 cars vandalized in one night in Yuba City, police say

May 14—The Yuba City Police Department confirmed with the Appeal that a suspect has been identified in an alleged vandalism incident that occurred on the night of May 4 and affected at least 87 vehicles.

While no arrests have been made, Kayla Eberley with the department said the alleged vandalism took place between from about 11 p.m. to just after midnight at "quite a few different addresses" around the area of Regency Park and Greenwood Park.

Eberley said as of now, 87 vehicles were listed in the report documenting the alleged vandalism, but more could come as the process moves forward. A concerned resident who reached out to the Appeal said more than 100 cars could have been affected.

The damage done to the vehicles, according to Eberley and the resident, was done so by a key.

"All vehicles were keyed, I do not see any additional damages done," Eberley said in an email.

Eberley said the alleged vandalism that took place on the night of May 4 was a "random event and there have been no additional vandalisms shown in that area since this incident."
