More Than 60 Roller Coaster Riders Left Upside Down as Universal Studios Ride Gets Stuck
Dozens of riders were left hanging this week as a roller coaster in Japan stopped mid-ride this week.
The ride in Universal Studios Japan in Osaka made an emergency stop Tuesday afternoon, leaving more than 60 passengers dangling upside-down.
Japanese broadcaster NHK showed footage of the passengers being rescued from the "Flying Dinosaur" by theme park workers, APTN reported.
The process took about two hours before all the riders were on the ground. No injuries were reported, according to NHK.
The emergency stop reportedly came after a safety device detected an abnormality. The same ride got stuck as many as three other times while carrying passengers between 2016 and 2017.
