More than 2,000 pills recovered from Slidell home, man arrested

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — A man was arrested after a multi-agency investigation led to a drug bust in Slidell on Thursday, April 25.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office reported detectives began investigating 52-year-old Donald “Buckshot” Plaisance after learning he was “suspected of conducting illegal drug activity at his home in the 5700 block of Cedar Avenue.”

STPSO officials said detectives worked with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office to discover Plaisance was allegedly storing large amounts of marijuana and counterfeit prescription pills at his Slidell home and selling them in St. Tammany and Jefferson parishes.

During a search of his home, STPSO detectives said they recovered 2,499 orange pills that tested positive for methamphetamine (counterfeit Adderall 30 mg), 246 blue pills that tested positive for cocaine (counterfeit Viagra), about 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 45 white oxycodone pills, 118 grams of suspected marijuana, eight THC vape cartridges, drug paraphernalia and $2,300 in cash.

Plaisance was arrested and faces the following charges:

  • Possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine)

  • Possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule II CDS (cocaine)

  • Two counts of possession of Schedule II CDS (oxycodone)

  • Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses

  • Two counts of possession of Schedule I CDS (marijuana)

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
