EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Teaching the new generation the importance of friendship and mental health awareness, Montwood High School, along with The Lead4Change Project, will present a $3,000 grant to the O’Shea Keleher Whole Child Academy on Tuesday, April 2, according to a press release by the Socorro Independent School District (SISD).

A group of high schoolers called the Montwood Mentors worked closely with children from the Keleher Academy on how important mental health is and the significance of friendship, according to the press release by SISD.

The Lead4Change Project is a grant program that displays students and their ideas on how they can impact their communities, according to SISD.

With the grant money, the Montwood students are planning field trips to continue to explore friendship, camaraderie, and mental health awareness.
