Montgomery County student arrested after bringing loaded gun to high school

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (DC News Now) — The Gaithersburg Police Department arrested an 18-year-old student for bringing a loaded gun that was privately manufactured to a high school.

On March 12, around 10:45 a.m., officers responded to Gaithersburg High School for an investigation, according to a news release from the City of Gaithersburg.

Montgomery County Public Schools security team members found the 18-year-old student, searched him and found the loaded gun. Officers then arrested him and took him to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

He was charged with underage possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded handgun and possession of a dangerous weapon on school property.
